Welcome to Brandy Cove Estate, a gracious home full of light
and the warm glow of marble and wood. Come and relax in the
comfortable luxury of a 10-bedroom summer home which overlooks
one of the prettiest bodies of water on North America’s
east coast. This home, on its large, landscaped estate property,
is perfect for family reunions, small corporate getaways, entertaining
or curling up on one of its comfortable couches to read the
week away.
The home has many remarkable features such as it being totally
wheel chair accessible on all three levels via the home’s
elevator wide door ways and halls, large hot tub and infinity
pool, large slate entertainment patio, and observation deck.
But let’s take a quiet stroll around its gardens and then
discover the house together.
You can enter the estate through one of two privacy gates,
both of which lead to paved drives which meander through the
seven-acre property and take you to the house. Several perennial
gardens entertain and delight as do the wide expanse of lawns,
roses and other flowering shrubs, privacy hedges, and many mature
shade trees, some more than a century old. The outside is as
much a part of this home as its interior; its six decks and
patios offer stunning views and cool ocean breezes. Guests have
easy access to the shore at Pottery Creek and the Blockhouse
and are within easy access to the Sunbury Shores walking trails,
the Fairmount Algonquin’s signature golf course and the
business district of historic St. Andrews.
We’ll enter Brandy Cove Estate though its main entrance,
this door as two others on this level and two others on the
lower level, are completely wheel chair accessible. You are
immediately struck by the home’s welcoming comfort, delightful
furnishing and art work, the light pouring through its many
windows and the view beyond. It is a home designed for entertaining,
the large entry foyer flowing seamless into the living room,
dining room, the large family-style kitchen with its harvest
table and the further wings of the house. On this level, besides
the rooms mentioned above, is an office with fireplace, a reading
room/rotunda with fireplace, two bedrooms, a sunroom, a full
bath which allows for easy wheel chair access into the shower,
small kitchenette, and two half baths.
We can make our way to the upper level via one of three stair
wells or by the elevator. On this level, the Master suite of
rooms are both private and restful. The bedroom, with its fireplace
and double window seats is the perfect place to spend a quiet
afternoon with a good book. The enormous Master bath has both
an oversize shower and free standing soaker tub, double vanities
and separate toilet room. The bath and bedroom open into a private
sitting room/gallery. Before we enter into the other wing of
the house, at the center of the home, there are three other
sun-drenched rooms: a sitting room with office space, an artist
studio and the upper Rotunda which has a glorious view of the
ocean.
The upper level right wing is accessible either through a door
leading from the left wing or by the main stairs leading from
the front entry. In this wing there are three master suites
and two smaller bedrooms which share a full bath.
The lower level, which has two entrances to the outside, as
well as an entrance to the large garage, can be accessed via
a spiral staircase or the elevator. The large spa room opens
to a small deck and garden and has its own half bath. It is
also equipped with a sling arm to assist handicapped individuals
in and out of the spa tub.
There is a very comfortable suite of rooms with its own outside
entry, perfect for guests or staff. The suite consists of a
large family room complete with service nook of cupboards, fridge,
sink and counter space. There are two large bedrooms with large
ensuite baths. There are laundry centers on the main and lower
